Maximum Wear Resistance - 450 microns
The wear resistance of artificial turf is determined by several factors. The thickness of the fiber obviously plays a major role, but the polymer used is also crucial. DuraForce is tufted with a yarn based on a new PE polymer composition, this yarn is extremely hard-wearing and at the same time soft to touch. The DuraForce fiber is exceptionally thick: 450 microns. On average, most grass fibers are only 150 to 250 microns thick. The more material a fiber contains, and the higher quality the polymer used, the longer it will last. Thanks to its robustness, the DuraForce turf will not fade or age as quickly as other products.
Tough, with a “soft touch”
Football players regularly touch the turf with their hands, arms, knees or even their face. DuraForce is made from a very tough fiber that guarantees durability. Synthetic turf of such fiber thicknesses quickly become very rigid and hard. DuraForce is unique in combining a robust fiber with a “soft touch”, thanks to an innovative polymer composition.
Trilobal profile guarantees an upright fiber
At 450 microns, the DuraForce fiber is exceptionally thick. This keeps it perfectly upright. This artificial grass fiber also has a unique trilobal profile. This shape gives the fiber the necessary “backbone” to remain upright. A fiber that has not been profiled will have more trouble staying upright. Just as important as standing upright is a fiber’s ability to spring back after being pressed down by the players. The built-in trilobal profile gives the fiber the necessary tension, ensuring that it springs back up after being compressed.
